This one is reminiscent of Alvin Robinson's Down Home Girl.
Times have changed, what chance would this have of getting an airing on the radio nowadays?
The Johnny Otis Show - Country Girl 1969
Update: Just found this review in the "4 **** Singles Reviews" section in the Feb. 8th 1969 issue of Record World:
Bouncy R/Ballad entry could go very far. Good party time sound to it.
Bouncy indeed! :)

Nice to see you back, Darcy, and thank you for the tunes!
I guess "Country Girl" proves you could rip off Lowell Fulson's "Tramp" in the late '60s without worrying about getting sued just like you could rip off the Doobie Brothers' "What a Fool Believes" and its "bounce" in the late '70s and early '80s.
